Harish is a disciple of Nada Yogi maestro Shri V. V. Subrahmanyam. Through the formative years, Harish trained under several Gurus mentioned below, each one of them having played an indelible role in his musical journey:

Harish has performed at various venues around North America and India. Harish was awarded the first prize in Senior Vocal category at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana Festival in 2000. Harish takes immense pleasure in exploring the spiritual realms of carnatic music, taking the audience with him so as to reach their inner depths, making his music a soul-filling experience. He takes particular care in the diction and clarity of the sahityams so the audience can follow with ease. Harish is also keen on the laya aspects having had training from his father Shri Tanjore S. Ganapathy, who is a senior disciple of Dr. T. K. Murthy and Kalaimamani Late Shri Tanjore Upendran.

Harish has also trained on the violin under Shri V. V. S. Murari. Harish studies voice presentation techniques under Shri Karthik Ramalingam of Toronto.

Harish holds an M.S. degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He is currently an engineer with Google Inc., Mountain View, CA.
